``FLY Kıbrıs Airlines connects Ercan to Bodrum

A big step for tourism with FLY Kıbrıs... FLY Kıbrıs, a domestic airline company that started its flights a short time ago, has expanded its flight destinations by adding Bodrum and Ordu-Giresun to its destinations.

 

 

On the first flight from Ercan Airport to Bodrum, Airbus A 320 aircraft FH 143 was welcomed with a water jewellery ceremony at Bodrum Airport. 

Fly Kınrıs Airlines introduced the first flight to Bodrum with a launch organised at Doria Hotel. 

In his speech, Fly Kıbrıs  Airlines Co-Founder Rauf Denktaş said that one of the main goals of the airlines, which started flights on 16 April, is to make the unshakable ties between the two countries stronger. 

Stating that the flights in question will provide economic income by improving the relationship between both countries, Denktaş said that they continue to work to improve their aircraft fleet. 

Nusret Polat, one of the founding partners of Fly Kıbrıs Airlines, stated that they have been interested in tourism for 20 years and have been operating in this direction and emphasised the importance of opening the Bodrum line. 

Stating that they organise two flights a week to Bodrum, Polat said that their 2nd aircraft will be commissioned in March. 

Emel Çakaloğlu, Deputy Mayor of Bodrum Municipality, expressed her satisfaction with the start of reciprocal flights and said that Bodrum contributes significantly to the country's tourism. 

Bodrum District Governor Bilgehan Bayar emphasised that Bodrum is one of the most important tourism centres of Turkey and thanked those who contributed to the launch of Fly Kıbrıs Airlines flights to Bodrum. 

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Enver Öztürk expressed his satisfaction for being present at the first flight to Bodrum and noted that there is only sea and air transportation to the TRNC, which is an island country. 

Stating that they attach great importance to the issue of transportation and that they have taken serious steps towards both air and sea transportation, Öztürk emphasised that the domestic airline established by 3 valuable entrepreneurs is very important for the transportation of the country. 

Enver Öztürk noted that with the new airport, which is planned to be opened on 20 July, large-bodied aircraft will be able to land on the runway, thus reducing costs and entering a new era in transportation. 

Giving the message that direct flights to TRNC from 3rd World Countries as well as Turkey can start, Öztürk noted that with the start of these direct flights, an important step can be taken towards the recognition of the country.
